Please be aware that Plan✕ is still in development. At this stage there are a number ways in which services are not accessible to some users. We are aware of these and will be adding them as a priority before going live with Public BETA.

If you have a specific accessibility requirement that the service does not currently meet, please get in touch with us. We are grateful for any feedback, suggestions or help you can give us as we build the platform.

Accessibility statement

Version 0.1 / Last updated July 2021

This statement applies to content published on Plan✕ services. It does not apply to content published on landing pages at planx.uk.

Plan✕ is designed to be used by as many people as possible. You should be able to:

  • zoom in text up to 300% without problems
  • view most content in sufficient contrast
  • understand the meaning of questions even if you are unable to view any illustrations

However Plan✕ does support services that involve some unusual or legacy information formats that may be difficult for some people to use (such as maps and PDF drawings). We are grateful for any feedback or suggestions for ways we can make any part of the platform easier to use.

How accessible are services on Plan✕?

Some parts of services on Plan✕ are not yet fully accessible. For example:

  • You cannot yet fully navigate the service using just a keyboard
  • You cannot yet navigate the service using speech recognition software
  • You may encounter significant issues when using a screenreader
  • Some smaller buttons or pieces of text have poor contrast or visibility
  • Maps cannot zoom, pan and view in full screen
  • The ‘draw boundary on a map feature’ is difficult to use, especially on mobile devices
  • Some text may not be written in plain english due to the need to include terms from planning law.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We’re currently working on developments that will significantly improve accessibility before going to Public BETA. We will update this page when those changes are live.
